What a season to celebrate our 50th Birthday!!

After an amazing 2021 snowy season when Cairngorm was closed due to Covid, 2022 turned into one of the driest, snowless seasons on record!

Thanks to all the kids, parents coaches, trustees and our partners, Cairngorm Mountain, Glenmore Lodge and Badaguish and anyone else who helped for making a bad snow season fun…

What did we do…? Ski (the patch a lot!), skate, hike, bike, jump, balance, run, plank (well done Harry!), football, rugby, treasure hunt, avalanche transceiver search, tree climb, race, dance, educate (learn race and FIS rules)… the list goes on.

But best of all, we challenged ourselves, we developed our skills , we laughed and made friends.

And finished off with our 50th BIRTHDAY PARTY!

Look out for our Summer programme, coming soon!

Ski Sale announcement 22.09.21

Saturday 13th November 2021, Dalfaber Country Club, Aviemore

Very excited to announce the return of the INFAMOUS Cairngorm Ski Club Ski Sale on 13th November 2021.

Re-use and recycle…. That’s what we are all about now.

So let’s try and reuse and recycle our out-grown and no longer used snowsports kit. Make some money at the Cairngorm Ski Club Ski Sale and give your kit a new home!

Alternatively, grab you self an absolute bargain. If you are looking for kids’ kit or some new race kit, its a great place to be. Or if you want to pick up a snowboard, some freestyle skis, or choose to “earn your turns” this year with some new touring kit, it’s all there at the CSC Snowsports Sale.

KEEP THE DATE FREE It’s the biggest ski sale in Scotland (probably)

CSCs BIG CHALLENGE Saturday 4th September 2021

Done and Dusted £2300 raised. YOU ARE ALL OFFICIALLY AWESOME!!!

How to donate…

Local Giving Fundraising page – Awaiting verification

In the meantime, if you wish to donate, please email development@cairngormskiclub.co.uk and we will send you bank details!

Help us raise money for the Club by joining us on a HUGE sponsored Hike up Ben Macdui, returning via the summit Cairngorm Mountain.

We are trying to raise money for a popup Storm Event Shelter that we can use for outside events, meeting points and shelter from bad weather days! It has to withstand pretty tough conditions, so we are hoping to reach a target of £600 that will match a grant that is hopefully coming our way soon.

Its a big climb and a long day but I know you can all do it! Ben Macdui is the second highest mountain in the UK at 1309m and from the summit on a clear day you can see all the way down the Linn of Dee and take in the enormity of the Cairngorm Massif that we don’t see from the Cairngorm Ski Area.

Here are the Stats…Distance 17.5km / 11 miles Time 6 – 8 hours Ascent 932m

We will meet early on Saturday morning aiming to kick off at 8.30am . Bring coffee, juice, snacks and a hearty packed lunch to have on the way. We aim to finish around 4pm but we will stay as a group and no doubt have some tired little legs so this is just a guesstimate!

Be prepared for a proper Scottish hike! As you know the weather can change in an instant, so boots, waterproofs, sunscreen, warm clothing are all essential. If you have the right map and a compass, bring it along, but we have Andy Townsend and Alison Thacker giving up their time to join us as Mountain Leaders (MLs)

Please register your interest on WebCollect here. ALL JUNIORS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A RESPONSIBLE ADULT. Its absolutely free but we need to know how many people (adults and juniors) are coming. Alternatively you can email me at amanda.shepherd@cairngormskiclub.co.uk

Registration will close on Thursday 2nd September at 9pm. We will need a minimum of 10 people to run it and reserve the right to cancel if the weather is not rubbish!

PLEASE HELP RAISE MONEY. SADLY I HOPE THAT A CSC LOCALGIVING PAGE WOULD BE SET UP IN TIME FOR THE EVENT BUT ITS TAKING LONG THAN USUAL! SO WE MIGHT HAVE TO FUNDRAISE THE THE OLD FASHIONED WAY BUT IT ALL WORKS!

Autumn Dry Slope Programme starts 1/2 September

The mornings are colder and the nights are getting longer. That only means one thing…

🤪🤩🥳 WINTER IS COMING!! 🤪🤩🥳

CSC will be running our very popular Alpine training and we are also very excited to announce a new addition of Freestyle sessions to our Autumn Programme at Glenmore Lodge

Wednesdays or Thursdays evenings in 2 blocks of six weeks, with Block 1 starting 1/2 September, Block 2 starting 27/28October

Don’t miss out… Book your space on Block 1 at https://webcollect.org.uk/csc/category/dry-slope-programme

Everyone is welcome. You don’t need to be a member to book on your first block so come along and see what we are all about (although our junior membership is very affordable!).

Skiers should be able to make strong snowplough turns (minimum) and be happy skiing top to bottom on Glenmore dry slope and use a poma lift without assistance. Everyone needs to have their own skis, boots, poles, helmet and gloves.

The minimum age for Alpine Training is 6 years old, and for Freestyle 8 years old.

Get ready for an EPIC winter🤪 Check out this video edit shot in Scotland last year, some of whom are ex CSC members…
