We are looking for volunteers for our key fundraising event, the Cairngorm Ski Club Snowsports Equipment Sale which is on Saturday the 9th November 2019. Below is a copy of the proposed strategy for this year’s sale.
In short we need helpers for as short or as long as possible between 8:30 am and 8:30 pm on 10 th November and if you can help email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. but please read on for more details.
As well as general offers to help we are seeking the following.
Supervisors for some of the key areas of the sale.
Goods-in Supervisor- to supervise the desks taking goods in from the public,8:30am to 1pm
Bulk Sales Supervisor- to supervise the desks taking goods from the sellers with large number of goods,8:30am to 1 pm
Security Supervisor- Required all day but can be split into 3 shifts 8:30am to 1pm,1pm to 5:30pm and 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
Sales Desk Supervisor-2pm to 6pm
Floor Supervisor -to supervise the sales floor ,splits into three sessions 8:30-2pm,2pm-5:30pm and 5:30-8:30pm,one person could to 8:30 to 5:30 but I would like someone new and fresh to start at 5:30pm.
Preparation of payout paperwork Supervisor – to oversee this key task which happens as soon as sale is finished
2.Volunteers to do the quality control of the goods being checked in.
This is a relatively new job and involves checking the goods members for the public bring and tactfully decline to take skinny skis, boots with heavily worn heels or toes accepted( unless it is possible to replace them),skis with obviously loose bindings, unrepaired holes to full thickness of base,or cracked edges.
This will be an important job and would suit people with some knowledge of ski gear and tact!
3. Volunteers to start at 5:30pm
People are tiring by this time of the day but there are still important jobs to be done and some fresh volunteers to work to give us a boost to help finish would be most welcome. You’d be the “cavalry”.
If you volunteer for this time you’re welcome to drop in earlier in the day to buy gear which would be paid for between 2pm and 3pm then return at 5:30pm.
4. Ten Volunteers to help with set up of the hall from 6pm to 7:30 pm on Friday 11th November
5. A volunteer to help me on the day take an overview of whole sale.
This isn’t a commitment to taking over running the sale! It would help the organiser, John, see if there was any gear he wished to buy and mean the club had another person with an overview of how the sale works.
6.A volunteer to help with some of the preparation in the lead up to the sale, particularly if you are interested in advertising the sale
Although we are seeking people for the specific tasks above we need plenty of helpers and all offers of help for as short or as long as possible are welcome.
If you can help please email John McFadden at email@example.com
