We’re looking forward very much to next season already, with
lots planned to keep trainees busy!
Our coaching team is being built gradually, with our focus
on providing qualified race coaches to head up the Senior/Junior programme and
Bairns’ programme respectively. Several familiar faces are hopefully returning to
us next season, so watch this space..
We will be holding our Fit fer Tux training and conditioning
sessions at Glenmore Lodge from August (after the schools go back) until the October
holidays, these are aimed at Hintertux trainees but other trainees are very
welcome to attend and get fit for the coming season. These sessions are held on
a Wednesday evening, and details and prices will be posted nearer the time.
Also coming in autumn are our post October holiday weekly training
sessions (also on Wed eves), with dry slope training and fitness for Bairns and
potential new trainees, and also for older athletes to brush up skills and
continue with strength and conditioning training.
Our 10 week Core Training programme will be going ahead as
planned , starting in January – we will be working closely with Cairngorm
Mountain Scotland Ltd to ensure we can
use available uplift facilities which will not include the funicular. Last
season we proved we can work positively around this, and we intend to do the
same. Cairngorm Mountain’s season passes
are very competitively priced due to the reduced facilities, costing from £230 with
the affiliate discount, which will be available to Club members until 30th
The Lecht will continue to be our primary on-snow
alternative to Cairngorm if conditions
don’t allow us to train there, and we hope to do some collaborative training
days with other Clubs. As usual we will
always provide a dry land training option,
and will be recruiting several coaches qualified in multiple disciplines
such as mountain biking.
On the social side, we have our watersports afternoon at
Loch Morlich on Sun 14th
September and our Club Ceilidh on Sat 24th November. Our Snowsports
Equipment sale is on Saturday 9th November. We’ll be posting more info on Facebook
and website in due course.
